KidSTreat 2025

On 6th July the High Street in Bishops Waltham was closed and turned into a “kids’ zone”. The town centre came alive with activities for children who were given the opportunity to learn a new skill, enjoy arts and crafts, or participating in music or performing arts.

Bishop’s Waltham Town Team held their last KidSTreat in 2018. The event was devised to “Showcase what Bishop’s Waltham can offer to young people through community organisations offering child-centred activities in a town centre party atmosphere”.

The framework for KidSTreat 2025 was almost identical to 2018, though the target age range was increased to 3-15 years and the publicity was enhanced.

The James Tuttiett Charitable Trust was delighted to contribute to the grant funding alongside Winchester City Council, Bishop’s Waltham Parish Council, St Peter’s Parochial Church Council and Bishop’s Waltham Rotary to ensure this was a free event.

Despite the weather there were close to 30 community organisations who set up stands and about 120 volunteers which was well attended with almost 1,000 people.

The Mayor of Winchester, Cllr Sudhakar Achwal, visited the event and toured every stand. He wrote afterwards about the wonderful stalls, the vibrant High Street, the passionate individuals and the dedicated volunteers.

Once again, KidSTreat was a resounding success due to the range of interesting activities and the overall organisation. The relaxed atmosphere, child-friendly environment and the community spirit were also highly rated. To find out more please go to www.lovebishopswaltham.com/kidstreat
