Kids on Track

The James Tuttiett Trust was delighted to provide financial support to help fund the running of the summer camp Bushcraft activities, which provided children with an opportunity to be outside immersed in nature and learn new skills.

Kids on Track camps are held in the magnificent grounds of local independent school, Farleigh. The children have access to 70 acres of landscaped woodland and parkland. In addition, they are able to use all the fantastic facilities such as the sports hall, theatre, Astroturf, tennis courts and pitches. This freedom and pace enable the children to grow in confidence and discover their individual talents.

Activities included basketball led by Bulford Bob Cats, tennis, golf and a mobile climbing wall. They also offer cooking, music and drama. But the support Kids on Tracks offers doesn’t end there. They aim to work with these children in years to come, offering them a mentoring programme as they become teenagers, enhancing their lives and giving practical support.

During our activity camp we surprised the children with a bushcraft session. We had NO idea quite how excited they would be. We built tents in the woods, we foraged, we navigated our way to find ‘treasure’, we learnt how to use a compass/survival kit, and most importantly we learnt how to toast marshmallows. Huge thanks to the James Tuttiett charitable trust for enabling this to happen, opening the children’s eyes to activities they have never been able to experience was what makes Kids on Track the charity we are. Thank you so much.
