Part of the new Winchester Hospice is a component we’re really pleased about and also endorses our core values; their award winning sanctuary garden.
The garden was designed and created by multi award-winning designer Sarah Eberle and it comprises trees and year-round evergreen plants, as well as layered boulders to create an aesthetic structure and a relaxing water feature.
The garden won a gold medal at the 2021 RHS Chelsea Flower Show, also winning Best Sanctuary Garden and Best Construction for its class. It was then relocated from Chelsea to Winchester in March this year for the benefit of hospice patients, their families and staff. A garden room was built in addition so that the garden can also be viewed and enjoyed during winter months.
“It’s great to have a space where patients who wish to get outside and enjoy nature, can go to relax, enjoy the soothing sound of water, and can experience the wildlife and nature that encapsulates the landscape whilst they are being cared for within the hospice.” Dr Lara Alloway
